What is a Physical Disability?

A physical disability refers to an impairment that affects a person’s mobility, motor control, or physical function. This can impact how someone participates in daily activities, work, and community life.

Physical disabilities can look different for everyone. Some are present from birth (congenital), while others are acquired through illness, injury, or progressive conditions. Some people experience challenges with movement or coordination, while others experience chronic pain, fatigue, or reduced fine motor control.
