After talking to you, Spot’s Clinical Coordinator should be able to give you a better picture of what your initial consultation will involve, Who should attend, what assessment might look like, and how long it may take. You will be required to complete a Client Questionnaire and may be asked to provide copies of reports from other health professionals or educators.

We believe in the power of comprehensive assessment. It enables us to develop a relationship with you and gain a true understanding of what is most important to you. Learning about your strengths is as important as identifying vulnerabilities. From there we can determine the best starting point for therapeutic support.

Spot Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists use interview, clinical observations and standardised assessments to build a holistic picture of an individual and their family.

Medicare

If your General Practitioner (GP) feels it is appropriate, you or your child may be placed on a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP), registered with Medicare.

Generally, this enables you to claim back a portion of your therapy fees for 5 visits per year. If you or your child is placed on a CDMP, we require a copy of the plan so that we can prepare your invoice with the correct format. If you attend the Randwick office for your sessions, we should be able to process your rebate on the spot using our HICAPS machine (after you have paid in full). Remember to bring your Medicare card.

Private Health Insurance

You may also be eligible to claim back a portion of your therapy fees if you have private health insurance. The amount able to be claimed depends upon your insurance provider and your level of cover.

We have a HICAPS machine at the Randwick clinic. If you have your membership card, we can process your rebate first, and then you pay the gap. If you have services at home, school or via Spot Telehealth, we will process your payment in full and will then forward you the paperwork required to obtain your rebate.  Please do not hesitate to contact us to ask for assistance or advice regarding rebates.

Yes! We recommend reports for all our clients, however, we also respect your right to decide when you require one.

Following an assessment, you will always receive verbal feedback. Generally, it is helpful to have assessment results and recommendations in writing, particularly if there are other professionals involved in your care.

Reporting for NDIS clients is part of our obligations as a registered provider, and we believe our reports are a valuable source of information in planning meetings.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

Spot Therapy Hub is an Accredited NDIS Provider and are committed to offering NDIS Participants with choice and control over their care.

The aim of the NDIS is to support people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities. It does this by identifying what disability supports someone needs in order to help achieve their goals in life.

If you do not already have funding, it may be that a report from one of our team members would be helpful in establishing whether an application would be appropriate. We are happy to give you advice and connect you with services that can also offer you guidance and support.

Participants of the Scheme may have their funding managed in one of three ways: By the NDIA, by a Plan Manager or via Self Managed funding. Spot Therapy Hub is a registered NDIS Provider and we are here to support Participants whose funding is managed in any way.
